Print media has gone the way of the Dodo bird ....

I'm sorry you think and say that. One of the best Canon photo magazines that I read every month comes from the UK and is PHOTOPLUS The Canon Magazine. It is well worth the read and comes in either or both print and digital.

If you have a Barnes and Noble nearby, they still carry photo mags or at least did last summer.

Greetings, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a photography magazine that would be worth subscribing to. In my area, there seems to be definitely a lack of photo magazines in stores. I'm looking for something that has some quality information and is not 90% advertising. I know that's a lot to ask for, but that's my goal. I appreciate your thoughts and Happy New Year to all my "HOG" friends.

If you have any interest in B&W, then Lenswork might be of interest. There are no ads and only images. There are also some online only versions that compliment the printed quarterly. Then there are these which can be downloaded as PDFs:

Yesterday I got an e-mail from KEH inviting me to subscribe to an "outdoor photography" newsletter. I don't know if they're basing it on the no-longer-available Outdoor Photographer or if this is the mag's way of staying out there. There's a free and a fee possibility. For a fee one can download and store articles and videos. I thought it was interesting.

I subscribe to Cameracraft. It is a British publication that comes out every two months. Go online and search for camercacraft magazine for further information. The last two issues were 48 pages in British format. Great photography, short concise equipment, printing, computer articles. None of the heavy advertising like we were used to here in the states. Members of my camera club also enjoy the magazine.

Still one of the best, I interned with them way back in the 70's. Greatest adventure of my life.

The year is 2024. in 1993, the World Wide Web was born, and started killing off magazines, books, newspapers, radio and television.

Try YouTube and search engines like Google, Yahoo, Dogpile...

That is non-responsive. Some people still like paper magazines, that you can flip through the pages, and go back and forth, without having to click hyperlinks, or tote a screen around. I am one of them. I would never trade my paper magazines, photo or otherwise, for a purely digital version.

Don't get me wrong; I am not anti-digital. I like having digital versions available when I don't have access to the paper ones, but the paper ones are my preference.

Yes, but...you need to pick your "experts" carefully!
