There is absolutely nothing cheaper than fossil fuel to power a vehicle.

There is also another reason (besides infrastructure) that EV sales are falling off. There is undeniable evidence that electric cars, in the long wrong, create more pollution globally than they are eliminating (based on production processes).

And how many of you think the governments (local/State/Federal) won't just turn off your cars/power thus eliminating travel, commerce, recreation at will? California shuts the power off regularly and at will.

The next thing will be no boats, street rods, race cars, or any fossil fuel powered devices/engines/vehicles. All will be confiscated and sent to the can crusher.

Maybe the Amish have it right?

I love your post, just plain ole Common Sense. Anybody else notice the Left in all of their hard work to make America somewhat better in their eyes seems to take away freedoms the rest of us have been enjoying for years? I like driving my diesel truck. I get great gas mileage and hopefully the truck will last until I am gone. If not I would easily buy another one. But if the Left have their way none of us would be driving fossil fuel powered vehicles after maybe a quarter century, maybe less. Somehow or other there would be people screaming and yelling about the very few gas powered vehicles continuing to pollute the air. POOF!!! Those vehicles would be deemed a public health threat and GONE. Does anybody really believe the lying ass bullshit from the Left about even kitchen appliances MUST be electric powered in the near future? Everyone knows electric is far more expensive than natural gas appliances and yet the push for electric appliances that are not as efficient and definitely not as cost saving as natural gas. Yet the wanna be dictator, POS BIDEN, has said by such and such a date new homes WILL be using electric appliances. This is America. I don't want electric appliances and yet it is mandated that is what I and others WILL be using. DAMN!!!!! I can't imagine where the electricity will come from. Any ideas? These windmill farms are definitely not cost efficient, are ugly and do not produce enough electricity for use by anybody. But wait...there's more. Not only are they inefficient, they break down and are not fixed easily. Thanks anybody for bringing up a threat to our wildlife. These wind generators are known to kill raptors and other large birds flying in their paths.

Thanks Democrats for starting the passage toward making America a third world shithole country run by a dictator, that would be any leader from the Left side of the aisle.

Not only ugly, inefficient wind generators but huge, emphasis on HUGE, solar panel farms also factor into the equation of producing electrical energy. I suspect we will be seeing more and more of these eyesores in the future.

Of course you are correct. Nothing the Left has suggested to take the place of old fashioned electric generators has been invented yet. It always amazes me how the Left can accept the photos of an electric powered generator of some type pictured near an EV charging station. Where the hell do they think the electricity comes from to power the EV charging stations? It is as humorous as those imbeciles who think meat from animals ONLY comes from the grocery store somehow but without no animals being injured in the process. Of course it follows milk and dairy products ONLY come from grocery stores with no animals involved at all.

I can't imagine why America does not welcome atomic power as have some countries in Europe and quite successfully. Instead we waste time and Trillions of dollars on these inefficient methods used now.

Well now THOSE people are definitely a threat to the security of America. Every lying corrupt Left Winger is taught that at home as well as in school. When that is thorougly known and believed they get to learn the secret handshake and fist bump.

6 Reasons Why the Government Is Pushing Electric Vehicles on Americans

The automotive industry faces major changes with the new popularity of electric cars. Political leaders have made their stance on EVs known, and the Biden administration has pledged $15.5 billion to support a strong and just transition to electric vehicles, retool existing plants, and rehire existing workers.

But why so much attention from the government to push the production of electric cars?

Well, there are several reasons. And I will walk you through ten of them:

Environmental Concerns
The most obvious reason is environmental concerns. 95% of the world’s greenhouse emission pollution comes from automobiles. So, if we can eliminate even a fraction of gas-powered cars on the road, the emissions are directly affected. The switch to all-electric transportation seems like a no-brainer for reducing environmental pollution and creating a greener planet.

Air Quality Improvement
A study just came out this week that shows how pregnant people and their unborn babies are potentially harmed by car exhaust. The nitrous dioxide found in car exhaust hurts the air quality and is linked to causing preterm birth and respiratory issues in infants. A move to electric cars would help to improve air quality.

Reducing Dependence on Fossil Fuels
Much of the oil we use in America comes from foreign soil. The move to electric cars would reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil and keep more money in the United States. For now, there are lithium-ion sources in the U.S., as well as several electric car models that are produced in America. More money staying in the U.S. means a better economy and more American jobs.

Lower Operating Costs
Studies have shown that electric cars have lower operating costs due to reduced fuel expenses and lower maintenance costs. If Americans are saving money on transportation, there is more money in the pockets of Americans who can stimulate economic growth by allocating that money elsewhere.

Technological Advancements
The reality is that the electric vehicle revolution is happening worldwide, and if America doesn’t keep up with technology, we will become irrelevant in the global market. Government support of EVs helps to ensure that the automotive industry continues to press forward so that America can stay on the cutting edge of the market.

Job Creation
Part of the $15.5 billion pledged to EVs is set to go to automotive manufacturers struggling to keep up with the demand for electric cars. You can’t just flip the switch and transition to all-electric transportation. These automakers are having to redo their production lines, retrain workers, source new parts, and troubleshoot new technology issues.

The easy button would be to outsource a lot of this to other countries like China, who have figured out a lot of these logistics already, but the wise choice is to keep jobs in America, and that’s what the Biden administration is hoping will happen by giving automakers some breathing room in their funding while they are undergoing this big transition.

The possibility for job growth in the U.S. through electric car production is huge, and this could contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.

So, while it may feel like the government is pushing hard for the transition to electric transportation, there seems to be good reason for it.

I think it is safe to say that what makes the planet "greener" is the proliferation of plant life. So, let's see what is it that plant life requires to grow?

Warmth - This really should be a no-brainer. For those of us that live in the climates that get snow know we don't get too many wildflowers growing wild during winter. The most abundant plant life on the planet is in the oceans in the form of algae.

Sunlight - Pretty sure everyone learned that plant-life needs light to grow.

Water - Most life on Earth is made of mostly water and plant-life is no exception.

CO2 - Plants simply cannot live without it. They consume CO2 and release O2 to the atmosphere.

But there is a little bit more to it than just that. Fire and combustion are natural processes. Our atmosphere is, as of 2023, by mole fraction (i.e., by number of molecules), dry air contains 78.08% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. At below approx. 16% O2 a fire won't start. Above 25% O2 and it can't be put out. Plant life has kept the O2 in our atmosphere in that 16-24% range for nearly a billion years.

There is a delicate balance of all life forms on Planet Earth that is maintained by Mother Nature and progresses along slowly as our planet's environment changes and everything worked just fine until present day homesapien arrived and sped up her clock.
