Somehow we have a shrimp boat that ended up in the intercoastal of Surf City. It’s been stuck for a few days now but I took the opportunity to go and take some photos of this beautiful boat. The sunset was mediocre, at first. Then it just became so beautiful and before I knew it I was able to take some slow shutter photographs! The stars were created in camera using a f-stop of 22 and open shutter for several seconds and longer! I do know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea based on having a friend who said so but did say they worked for the pics well. Personally I like them because I did not add the sunstars or really do anything to these photos post except denoise and tiny amount of tweaking. I used my OM-1 with a 12-24mm lens and my tripod. The first three I took with my IPhone.

Those are beautiful!! I wish I could capture starbursts like that! I have great lenses, have tried f16 thru f22, made sure the sun was partially hidden behind the object and I get soft sun rays not the sharp pointy burst like yours! 😔.
The lenses I've tried this with are Nikon 24-70 f2.8, Nikon 50mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.8, it has to be me doing something wrong 😪
