Racist is the key word describing the lack of complete border control, all are so dammed afraid of being called racist. A country without enforceable borders is not a secure country. we all seem to forget that the millions of undocumented count when the seats in the Legislature are apportioned giving sanctuary states an unfair advantage. Our country is deep in debt and has a problem taking care of it's own citizens. Times are rough in Central and South America because those folks would rather pack up and leave than take their Country back from the evil that prevails. I do believe that countries south of our border had the opportunity to develop a Society and Government of the people and by the people, their failure is their problem, not ours.

While I have and continue to support the need for comprehensive immigration reform to try to peg illegal immigrants to any type of debt issue is really disingenuous.

Read the last para in you link( based on numbers from a private. Anti immigration. Study)
It states cost of illegal immigration to all government levels - federal, state and local of $182 B with tax revenue of $31B. ( and that doesn’t even consider the contribution to economy is terms of secondary spending and the secondary jobs created )
That equates to $151 B at all levels of govt.
I’m just saying trying to tieillegal immigration to nation debt is total unfounded .

We don't know how much the Biden Administration is spending on immigration, I have heard it reported that we are actually flying people in that use his app, not sure if that is true but we are certainly spending on private organizations to transport and then feed and house these people all over our country, but the Biden Administration refuses to talk about it. You are talking about jobs? Really? The majority of the recent immigrants are not being employed but they are straining public services in the communities they are being located to both in education and medical services not to mention that they are blowing up city budgets. The mayor of Chicago recently said that caring for the influx of migrants is consuming 10% of the city's budget, that translates in 10% fewer services that can be offered to the residents of that city.

1. The biggest reason the asylum
Seekers are not working is that federal government rules prevent them from getting work permits for 6 months. All I can think off is that is a holdover from the days if quicker immigration judicial actions . Both NYC and Chicago have ask biden to relax that rule but no action to date. No income - no money for rent, goody or medical services and no input to economy interms of taxes paid .or other secondary pluses.
“If” you were really worried about the financial burden you would support that .
3. “ You have heard”. Sounds exactly like a trumpism . Stupid.
Those that believe millions of Illegal immigrants are not causing additional debt have their heads up their ass.
Happy New Year.

I could spend pages about the unseen costs incurred by Undocumented aliens and it would not convince folks on your side of the discussion. I do not have the time to try to explain it to those that suffer from tunnel vision.

You should see all of them working here.
They are day workers and new home construction crews speaking Spanish solicit 12-20 workers for the each job of the day. The contractors are absolved from I-9 verification since a "temp agency" is fulfilling the requirements of the employer. The workers probably get paid in cash at the end of each day. They are out laying roofs, foundations, etc. as early at 7:00 and go until dark. The same is true for lawn care, drainage and watering landscaping projects, ongoing roof, shingle and storm damage projects.
There's no way to get the true numbers for what they add to local economies since all you see is the expense side.
The same is true in The Villages and other retirement communities. Our economy would come to a full stop without them.

Those Laborers are taking away jobs from American Tax payers, the Myth is that Americans won't do those jobs, the truth is that undocumented workers have depressed the prevailing wages to a point that it is more profitable to stay home.
