"Go ahead, make my day" is a catchphrase from the 1983 film Sudden Impact, spoken by the character Harry Callahan, played by Clint Eastwood.

Interesting. I didn’t know that.

This article lists 11 memorable movie lines. While there are some good ones like "Life is like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you're going to get" from Forrest Gump and "You're going to need a bigger boat" from Jaws, some really good ones were not on the list.

"Play it, Sam" from Casablanca -- this one might not have made the list except for the mistake people make in saying "Play it again, Sam"

"Show me the money" from Jerry McGuire

"You had me at hello" also from Jerry McGuire

"Who ya gonna call -- Ghostbusters" from Ghostbusters

"Damn" from Gone With the Wind

"Houston, we have a problem" from Appolo 13

I feel sure a lot of you can add to this list

Casablanca had a whole series of great lines…We'll always have Paris…Play it which is the most famous line that doesn't actually exist…Round up the usual suspects…This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship…yeah, what a great movie.

"I wish you'd stop bein so good to me, boss" Cool Hand Luke
"When you're going to shoot a man, shoot, don't talk" Tuco Rameriz, The Good Bad and Ugly
" Do you feel lucky? Well, do you, Punk?" Dirty Harry
"A man's got to know his limitations." Dirty Harry
"It's not how fast or accurate, it's being willing." John T. Books, the Shootist
"I miss the clarity" John Housemen's character in The Three Days of the Condor.

I've always loved the "one liners" that Clint Eastwood, always seemed to come up with.

"Well, are you going to do something, or just stand there and bleed?"

I doubt that there will (ever be) an actor that comes up with some of the best quotes for us.

"Frankly, in all of the excitement, I can't remember if I fired six shots, or only five."

"No thanks, I had bugs for lunch." Indiana Jones/Temple of Doom

Best line in the worst IJ movie - IMHO. So good I still remember it after all these years. But not good enough to watch the movie again to see it delivered. (Unlike so many of the other great lines mentioned above - I can't count the number of times I've watched Casablanca.)

Actually, it was the writers who came up with those lines. Clint just read them.

Clint was known for sometimes changing or rewriting his scripts, although I couldn't find anything about specific lines he rewrote.
