I find it interesting that nobody here has mentioned that Amazon Prime includes unlimited photo storage that allows display and sharing on phones, computers and Amazon Fire equipped big TV screens without ads (yet).

I suppose that's good if you need the photos available all over the place.

I have already cancelled. I am not going to pay more. free view and another free service is coming from Amazon. I can no justify Prime. They no longer do all prime purchases on 1 day service. Bezo hasn't been involved in the running Amazon for 2 years. Since he left the company, the Prime product benefits go down.

Making money is fine, but I would like to know what they pay in taxes. And what do they pay their employees. There are companies that pay so poorly that the employees get federal assistance that the tax payer pays.

Here in central Indiana we have 8 warehouses. I know a few people who work there and they say they pay well compared to other warehouses in the area. In 2021 they had a 35 billion pretax profit and paid 2.5 billion in taxes.

Remember that Amazon has an extensive 3rd party program where the majority of the money goes to the vendor so those sales do not show up on their books as Amazon sales. The vendor gets the money less the fee.

I am also now getting Amazon ads saying that those on Medicare, etc. can get Prime for half price. I'm an old guy on a fixed income, and I resent the $%%^ out of that.

'Tis my understanding that you must be on uber low-income government benefits like Welfare, SNAP, and Medicaid, but *not* Medicare. Am I misreading it?

Misreading? More like making it up.
All he said was he was on a fixed income.

If you'll observe my post in total you'll take note that it ends with a question mark. Nothing made up about it... in fact, that's where my confusion came from. I read several articles online about it and still find no definitive answer, but based on what I read and articles like the following, I don't think Medicare does it, but if I'm wrong, I'd like to sign up too since I'm on both Medicare and Social Security.

Just an FYI, most of us living on Social Security and small pensions view it as a "fixed income", just like the OP does. So if anyone has any actual information to contribute, I'm sure more than one of us would appreciate it, including the OP and me.

I'm not going to deny Bezos his over the top, classy, monarchial sailboat, (yes I said sailboat). Manned by a crew of underlings his majesty and his girlie friends can frolic and whatever else they choose to do in the balmy Caribbean. We all have our little and large crosses to bear, so does stevie baby, or is it Bubbikins! I contribute to his excesses because I think I can afford them, at least for now! Let them eat cake, my choice is all rye grain bread! Give a little, get a little! Let's to the Barricades Comrades. Or maybe I'll just enjoy the shiny new Mazda I saw adverted (without a Wankel engine!).

In the last couple of years the Internet commercials and ads have gotten much, much more aggressive and intrusive. It is getting hardere and harder to ignore them and many of them no longer have the "Skip" option. Sure, you can pay to not have ads, but that is only for that particular web site. I think you could go broke paying for all of them.

I’m a Prime guy but I don’t watch Prime Video. If I did I’d likely cancel. All these streaming services apparently are adding commercials even though you’re paying for the service in the first place. I can’t understand why subscribers put up with it..

Many years ago, one of the main advantages of paying for cable TV was that there were no commercials. This was based on the idea that the subscriber paid for the service so ads were not needed. That went away when the cable providers realized they could have their cake and eat it too, i.e. a cash cow that kept on giving. Now commercials on cable TV are accepted as a matter of course.

What do you guys think people are in business for??
My wife and I have had customer service businesses and were constantly amazed at people thinking we should provide the service/product for nothing since we had plenty of money.............we have this great business......
