Now I remember I did work on an Accurite unit about 6 years ago or so. I had a hard time with it. It had a solar panel to power the remote unit. I don't know if it's still working. At the time the city found out that we might have dumped some ink in the sewage so they made us installed the unit and put the display on the internet so they can monitor it. If they see the rain fall more than 1 inch they would come out and test our sewage water.

Mine uses batteries, and they seem to last forever.

I’m on my second Accurite - they seem to last 7-8 years. Fortunately, the displays last forever, so now I have one outside unit driving 2 displays

I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer that has three wireless remote units. It will display the temp at the base unit plus three remote locations. I have the three remotes located at various spots around the property, i.e. the back yard, the garage and the shed.

Not like all CDs are perfectly balanced either.....

I'm sorry, I was talking about putting labels on a disk.
I didn't mean printing. My mistake.

I've had an OEM printed disk make noise because the disk itself was out of balance. It happens.
And yes, adding a label to a small area will unbalance the disk. The labels that are the size of the disk shouldn't be a problem, unless they are applied way off-center.

Are you aware that outside sending units are available on Amazon? Our sending unit expired early last year (2022) and I found a replacement on Amazon. Our receiving unit was not shown on the company's compatibility list, on a wild thought ('cause my wife really likes the way the inside unit "looks so good without all the different colors" now all that's available on almost all units), I called the U.S.A. company selling the outside unit. The person answering the phone told me there were only several generic units that would work with over 20 receiving units. I purchased their compatible sending unit and it is working to date - 30 degrees here in the NW corner of Alabama.

Take out all the batteries out them back in the outside unit first than the inside unit. They might have to be close together at first.

Yep! This always corrects ours'.

I can print the labels, but I don't like using them.

With regard to number 1, that happened to me once.
The receiving unit holds the last value received. Taking the batteries out of the sending unit won't make the receiving unit show nothing.
I put new batteries in both and reset both units as there was a reset button in them.
Works fine now. But I don't remember if the problem was with an old set (Oregon Scientific) or the new set (Accurite) because one of the Oregon Scientific units died after 20+ years...

One thing I might suggest, as strange as this sounds, replace the batteries in both units, however start with the base unit, then replace them in the transmitter. I have an "atomic clock, in/out temp unit" that specifically requires this sequence.
