Which brings up the question: why didn't you return your incorrect driver's license and require the the state to send a correct one? Or was it just easier to use the one they sent you?

I am with Chase Private Client Services. They have been superb. They pay for my checks and even take me to lunch, not the cleaners! I have a 24 hour team for support. They make their money, but it’s well hidden and not transactional. In this world, nothing is for free. We are going to pay for service somewhere. May as well get good service for our money and feel ok about it.

So DMV screwed up and it’s the credit union’s fault? I must be missing something in this story.

I didn't know. When I found out I did return the driver license and have the correct one sent to me.

This is also odd, Bebu, because I have received mail where somebody has put the wrong zip code on it and the post office has corrected it. They put a strip of coded paper on the bottom of the letter.

Ha! You're obviously an optimist. I have no hopes of getting $20. I'm just curious about what excuse they'll use. There was absolutely nothing in the offer that restricted the four purchases.

Why bother cashing the check? If it were me, I'd just deposit it into the account I already have. Suffer the short hold. Local holds are only supposed to be for 2 days and they are supposed to give you partial immediate credit. Depends on the amount, but that's a federal funds availability rule, not BofA.
