I have read that eagles hang out in the Burlington, WA area this time of the year, along the Skagit river. Any local Hedgehogs know if this is true? Got a free plane ticket and the time to go. Couldn't find a camera store in town to ask, so please let me know if it's worth a trip. Thanks! Flying into Seattle, any other place around there?

Some flights go into Everett which lets you avoid the severely crowded Seattle-Tacoma airport. Everett is also closer to the Skagit river.

I can't give you a current count, but yes, the Eagles hang out along the Skagit. Maybe this link will tell you something: https://skagiteagle.org/

I don't know about Washinton state, but wherever there are cottonwood trees... eagle will be around. They love cottonwood trees and, in the winter, look for open water area. So, be sure you look for those trees. Good luck will be looking forward to seeing some photos!

We have lots of eagles on Long Island. The Bald Eagles of Centerport has a live stream of the nest.

In the morning they are out fishing. There are several eagles pairs/nest around long Island

The Eagles should be in Seattle when they're playing the Seahawks; there shouldn't be any need to go to Burlington. (Someone had to say it.)

Thaz funny. Wanting to ask camera stores. If it were worth asking, why not ask Encon, DEC, or whatever its called in WA State ?

The Skagit River has many Eagles in the Fall -Winter that feed on the spawning salmon. A popular destination is in the Rockport area which is upriver from Burlington. You might check the Internet for Eagle tours on the Skagit River.

I've been there, last time in mid-December 2017, but more than a couple of times before, and can verify the Skagit River has eagles. The best way to view and capture images is with a guide on a float boat. But you can find many from the road. But the colder it gets, the more lethargic they become.

There are various places in the Lummi Nation where the eagles hang out. Chuckanut and Samish areas also.

If you bring your passport, the Fraser River just across the Canadian border has a decent number of eagles as well...

Kenmore Camera may be able to help. The closest camera store to the north Sound area. It will also depend on the weather, generally the colder rougher winter the greater the concentration.

Eagles nest anywhere there are any big tree and water to fish in. Here, we have a nest near the StJoe River, on land owned by Notre Dame Univ. There is a county park within sight of it, and the county and the University co-operate to allow people to see the nest without spooking the birds.
