Great composition. I really like this photo. I always wonder about the history, the people who once lived here, why they left.
Thank you very much, Caribou. I wonder about the same things myself.

Thank you for submitting an excellent photo of a grand old house that must have been a beauty in its day. Your photo is well taken and composed perfectly in my opinion. The clouds help immensely to set the mood for the old house. Can you tell us please how far from any city or town is it?
Dennis
Thank you very much, Dennis, for your generous and helpful comments. Much appreciated. This home is located along a stretch of ghost towns in south Saskatchewan, but the nearest active town from the location of the home would be approximately 30 minutes away by car. The closest major small city would be about 1.75 hrs travel by car.

Your capture of the overcast sky, abandoned building, and the skeletal foliage in the foreground all combine to make this a most memorable image. I love old buildings, and this is one that has certainly captured my attention.
Thank you very much for your kind comments, tommystrat. Very much appreciated.

I grew up is house very similar to your picture. It was bulldozed in about 1980 and the land now back to bald prairie.
Nice picture.

Thank you, bwana. I'm glad it brought a memory to you.

Beautiful shot Cottondog. I'll bet it would look great in B&W as well - especially with that sky.
Thank you, srfmhg. I never considered a B&W conversion, but I will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Strange how dilapidated old homes make such delightful photo subjects! You captured the allure of this one!
We traveled from Arkansas, up thru Winnipeg, to Alaska in January 2017. I recall seeing several old photogenic homes along the way in that area. Unfortunately, it was not where I could stop and photograph them...
