You had a business and didn't make your own copy of the checks before putting them in the ATM or at least make a record of each person's payment? Sorry, John. You shouldn't be blaming BOA.

You must not have read my post. I said I did have a list of the checks, who they were from, and the amounts. That's probably the only reason they gave me access to the funds. My objection was that they said it would take up to four weeks to confirm the deposit when they would find the checks when they next opened the ATM.

[sigh] I guess there is an Esso bee in every group.

I sat on the board of a credit union for a few years, and on the Supervisory Committee of the same CU for over a decade. I'm still a member there, and at another credit union. I have had nothing but good service from both of them. My last used car loan had a 1.99% interest rate on it! My credit card still has an 8.99% rate on it, so it is the only one I ever carry a balance on for a few months. Credit Unions are only entitled to less than 1% profit, to keep them solvent. So the spread between loan rates and savings rates is comparatively low.

👍👍 Credit Unions. You aren’t a customer, you are an owner.

If you qualify for any sort of credit union, join and move your accounts. You’ll never use banks again unless they have a unique service that you need. HUGE improvement in service, rates, honesty…

đź‘Ťđź‘Ť. I joined one 12 years ago - local. I have a checking acct and mortgage. An office is a short ride from home It has friendly, smiling faces. Superb service.

I agree, they are awful. I just closed a credit card account I had with them for many years.

We have been with BoA for 24 years with free checking accounts and cash back on three credit cards. We have had no issues with them and highly recommend them to others. We have a free safe deposit box, free cashier's checks and other perks. No bank is perfect and they all make mistakes at some point.
I like that they have multiple credit cards so that one can pick the ones that work best. We receive thousands of dollars in cash back every year. They pay very little interest on their checking and savings accounts so we do not keep large balances in them. We do maintain sufficient funds throughout their system to be a Preferred Honors client.

I started my first credit card with Barnett Bank in Florida, 1988. They closed, and several other banks would buy my card and close, until BOA finally ended up with it. When I moved back to the States in 2015, I went to BOA for the first time. They made me the deal of cash rewards credit card accounts. 2 ways to have free accounts: have a pay check of at least $250 direct deposit into the savings/checking account every month OR, maintain a monthly average of $1500. I keep those rules, no problems at all. Bought my D750 with those cash rewards.

Not surprised. There are so many other banks that are better.

I made four purchases with the card, so let's if they give me $20. I doubt it.

I use a credit union - no charges for anything.

If you are so negative on BoA and have had, what you consider, as bad experiences why would you bother using them? Will you report back when you receive your $20? With more then 4,500 banks in the US why not just find the one that you like and use them. Banks are like cameras, someone will dislike a particular brand and others will say that that brand is best thing since sliced bread.
Perhaps you just enjoy complaining about Boa.

I had an incident that happened way back in the 50's. At that time I was about 26 years old, and single. I had moved to San Francisco from Seattle and opened a savings account with what I thought was the main Bank of America office in downtown SF. I stayed in SF a few months . . . and then decided that I would return to Seattle to live. OK . . . fast forward, maybe 20 or 30 years. I came across my B of A savings book with under 100. in it (I don't remember the exact amount and I also forgot to close the account when I left SF). I got in touch with them and asked to close out my savings account. I don't remember their exact words but they told me I could not have the Money! I accepted that reply . . . but never forgot the incident. Bank of America . . . FORGET IT.

I accepted their offer of a CC with no interest till the middle of 2015. Then, they offered me $20 after making four purchases. I know they won't honor that, but I'm interested in what excuse they'll use. I read all the fine print. I bought four things I would have bought anyway, so I haven't lost anything.

If they're going to charge you interest since 2015 you're in the hole already.
