You've got it in three paragraphs.

Sometimes people have asked me, "You mean to tell me that you are stupid enough to believe that God created everything?" And I answer them, "Yes. What are YOU stupid enough to believe?"
I preached the below sermon in preparation to a Bible study in Genesis.

Wonderful and true article. Thanks for sharing
Somebody lit the fuse for the big bang. And THAT is fodder for all the zeolots to preach their beliefs, as if they mattered a damn.
I've often said, I believe in a god, a creator, some far superior intelligence that we can't begin to comprehend. I don't believe in religion. This creator started the process and that was it. It does not get involved in our lives. Of course, the atheist will ask:Why bother at all? I have no answer for that. But there is a lot that I can't answer, such as what existed before the Big Bang? Why is there so much good in the world and yet so much evil? Is there anything for us after this world?

Amen and God Bless you for that sermon.
I notice that the loving nature of God is mentioned, but not the fact that He is also a God of justice
Thanks for the post, I am with you all the way. The other post went in the trash immediately, I would not even respond to such!
I don’t believe in magic words being the creation of the Universe. It is not an answer because what created the creator. Today’s Gods are tomorrow’s myths.
Man use to think God was on Mount Olympus, but we climbed it and found none, man believed God was in the Heavan, but we have climbed to the Heavens and found no God. But the science that got us there and beyond has the answers, you don’t need to believe, just accept the laws of physics.

As others have said, to believe God created the earth (a matter of faith that cannot be proven) and the reality of evolution are not mutually exclusive. To believe in a "young earth" (approximately 6000 years) defies scientific logic. If you want to take Genesis literally (no one actually interprets all of Scripture literally) you have to explain the different orders of creation in the two creation accounts. Both cannot be literally accurate.
So you also agree with God’s commands to smash living babies’ head against the stones of captured Canaanite cities? That’s in the Judeo-Christian Bible too.
There are huge gaps in the fossil records in regards to the evolution of man. Right now the oldest "human" remains are from ca. 3.6 million years ago, the Australopithecus, but there are precious few fossils to establish a firm biological timeline between it and us.
Man did evolve, but many folks misinterpret what evolution is. Man did not reach some juncture, and from then on, every man was alike. The truth is, that evolution is a series of branching exercises, and survival of those who adapt. The first creatures to become bipedal, didn't survive by being brave. They did not stand upright so some large bird of prey attacked them for the next meal. Likely, the shyest of the lot survived and sired offspring, which in turn, survived, etc. The unsuccessful branches died off quickly; those successful didn't.
Religion is based on belief without evidence and science is based on belief with evidence. That’s a rather simplistic view of it but it’s how I see it.
In the 21st century...
Evolution is not a religious issue...
It is an educational issue.
Science knows for a fact...mankind never started out that way...zero chance...zero.
To deny it now...is a declaration of ignorance.
Good words KTJ! We were created by Him and for Him, His truth is written on our hearts it doesn't come from culture, He gave us free will to choose, if you choose your own way instead of His, He will not force you into an eternity with Him, separation from Him is by our choice. God will always in some ways be a mystery to us but by seeking to know Him is a good step into looking behind the veil. Best wishes to all and Merry Christmas!

Yes, you are right the eternal punishment is a false doctrine that got into many popular denominations however, it is not biblical and it’s not what a loving God will do, but so also Other denominational, beliefs and theories are not actually biblical.

Not a false doctrine! It is biblical. Apparently, you haven't read the New Testament? There are 13 specific references to Hell & Judgment. In the 12th chapter of Luke, 5th verse, Jesus said, "But I will show you the one to fear: Fear him who has authority to throw people into hell after death. Yes, I say to you, this is the one to fear." Do you deny Jesus or claim He is a liar?
