What better time to stage an image for posting than Christmas Eve night? This is the 10X magnification profile view of a longhorn beetle using a 10X microscope objective mounted on the end of a 200mm macro lens as the optic for the camera.
The 592 stack of images taken were processed using Zerene Stacker to produce the image posted. I've included a picture of the longhorn beetle placed on a dime to provide a sense of size compared to what 10X magnification produced. The image of the dime was taken with a smartphone so please excuse the poor quality.
Beautiful Sippy, Merry Christmas
That is amazing especially on such a tiny creature. Well done, you are pushing the envelope further and further.
Another beauty Sippy. Merry Christmas to you and your family
Astonishing detail!!
How about a New Years challenge - open one of your bugs up so we can see what they’ve been eating.
Very nice. Reminds me somewhat of "Mothra".
