Really like the composition, Linda. Kind of like your own secluded view of an intimate setting - the quietness of snow, small seating area, backed by a big sentry tree / row of seclusion trees in the background, sitting area for friends to come by......etc.
Many thanks for your lovely description and comments!

A common area in the apartment complex where I currently live. Our snow lasted a few hours, the gloom and gray has taken up most of a week

Feedback welcomed!

Very nice, the framing is so simple but so powerful here. You did well with some tricky contrast. :-)

Beautiful scene Linda. As you know I love snow I prepare for winter by shifting from shorts to long pants

Apologize for the delayed response. You got a chuckle out of me. When we moved to WV from Tx. I found a bit of an education in temperature zones.

My wife & I visited the local small town where we live. Winter, snowing, high 20's. Car heater on, bundled in shirts, sweaters, coats. Looking at the layout, we noticed the 'locals', and got an education. Several were adorned in hoodies, shorts and flip flops. Seriously?

To say the least, we were wondering where in the world (or twilight zone) we had moved. But then we noticed all was good; I commented that they had they're winter shorts on - you know, the ones that came down to their knees.

Now I know that upper 20's and low 30's can be - quite warm.......considering.
Disclaimer: STill not wearing shorts in the winter

Merry Christmas to you and yours dear fellow Hogger, and a safe one as well.

Thanks so much! I use Nik Silver Efex for my black and white conversions. It offers many pre-sets + many options for tweaking those presets, along with starting from scratch. Using layers and layer masks (in PS Elements, not the full PS), one has all the tools needed

The perspective through the arch really adds a lot to this image. Nicely captured Linda.
