We got the weather alerts yesterday, and they were right. Lots and lots of rain, and I suppose there is flooding somewhere around here. I'm staying inside today. More details were included, but the basics are below. It's ° 52°, so that's some compensation.

We got drenched here in the Greensboro, NC area as well. Then strong winds in the wee hours, followed by a "bright sunshine-y day" today.

I don't like power outages, but I'm sure that one is coming.
My mate in Cairns, QLD, says they had ½ metre of rain yesterday. Monsoon perhaps?
Although the rain here has stopped, the ground is still covered with water.
Out back yard runs to the Colorado River with a 20+ foot, 45% bluff down to the river. River usually runs about 2-3 feet deep. The river has reached the top of the bluff, but not breached, about 6-8 times during the 50 years we have lived here ( thanks to the LCRA’s really good control of the dams upstream of water during heavy rains). However, in 2015, we got between 15-19 inches of rain in the here in about 8 hours. River breached the bluff for the first & only time but luckily only about 4 inches in the yard, so no damage to house or out-buildings. However, we had parked one of the cars in the edge of the pasture in a low spot & it got flooded. Was ok though, as we were going to sell it and the insurance totaled it & paid us more for it than we had paid for it. A bit of luck. Most fortunate.
