The coloration of the flames is excellent looking very real.

I am shocked that the lady in your Christmas card is grasping her chest as if having a heart attack!!!

The Victorian Era was an extended one and was considered a romantic time in British life that still has influence today.
I agree with Fstop, "A cozy scene"

After looking at it again, the lady has her hands upon her chest with a surprized look on her face. She appears to be looking across the room as if someone has entered with a bottle of wine and 2 glasses. :-)

Thanks Don, the house was only open one weekend to the public. When I took shots I knew I would do so with a composite in mind. The light on the mantle was shot in a different room.
I knew I would be using it somehow.

I like your explanation for the look on her face.

"When I took shots I knew I would do so with a composite in mind." You planned the parts of an in your mind a Jigsaw image and made the photos needed to do that puzzle compost. You did well, NJFrank.

Picture "Jigsaw Puzzles" were historically very popular in the past, what-goes-where was the challenge. Now in photography, we see, and plan a picture puzzle and we, with the aid of our fantastic editing programs, paint an image.

History: "It was around the mid-1800s that jigsaw puzzles started to become popular with adults as well as children."

That lady is being strangled by her hat strap! Some serious Ps jiggery-pokery Frank, and you’ll have her embroidering as she should be! It’s a lovely setting - the oil lamp is just right for it. You could clone out those white plastic things below the candle sticks? Set-to and you’ll have next years Christmas card sorted.

When I toured the house and stopping and taking a photo. It was for later use. I am sure others in the house wondered why I was taking that particular shot. An example is the lamp. I thought it was an excellent item to put in my library. As it turned out I was able to use it on this composite. It replaced a lamp which was more from the 1920’s or the 30’s. It would not look right for this composite.

Thanks Dave, and good eye for the white items. Easy enough to get rid of them. I like the idea of using it for next years Christmas cards.

She likes to live dangerously. She is seeing how close she can get to the flame without getting burned.

I enjoy reading how you look for possible elements to photograph and use later. You multi-task very well, Frank
