I can't ding the choices you made with this shot (well, maybe I could, but to do so would've included that I'd have suggested you upped the shadows/blacks a Zone or so to arrive at in an image that might be less gloomy), but I can't help wanting to have seen more visual/spatial 'context'. Like maybe about twice as much landform (which in reality would've been what? another corral? a heap of junk? a pasture?) to the right (as well as having provided just a little bit more of whatever's on the left side, too, so that the barn wouldn't have encroached so heavily on the image's left side margin), such that the 'triangle' of the face of the barn would've been placed dead center.

While recognizing, naturally, that you're you and I'm me.

I cropped tight as there’s nothing on the right and on the left is a small shed and water tank. They seemed more a detraction, so out they went. I see what you mean about it being overly dark. It does need a little more attention in that area. Thanks for your help and comments. My intention is to show a large barn and a single, lonely horse.
