Cattle Tyrant

Dan Thornton Loc: Corpus Christi, Texas
 
This is a Cattle Tyrant which is a nonmigratory bird from South America. This is the only known specimen to be seen north of Panama. No one knows how he ended up in Corpus Christi, but I suspect he was transported. He is a flycatcher, and feeds on the ground a lot. If you are interested, you can read more about the bird in the link below. The fifth and sixth photo show part of a red patch on his head if you look closely. Most of the time the red patch is concealed. The photos were taken on a grey overcast day in relatively low light. I hope you enjoy this rare bird.
