Well, I suppose I can't call this old Fuji Acros 100 image subtle, but the grain is nice! Circa 2003.

Yes, the grain is a nice touch.
Grain vs Smooth,
If viewers were up on the history of photography they would ponder "To see photo-grain, or not see photo-grain" is a soliloquy given by Prince Hamlet in the so-called "nude nunnery scene" of William Shakespeare's play Hamlet (Act 3, Scene 1).
In the speech, Hamlet contemplates death and suicide, weighing the pain and unfairness of film photography against the alternative digital, which might be worse.
Oddly, perhaps, the grain adds to the photo making it a photo rather than an attempt to make a fake real imitation of flesh, Debatable. I think the grain adds to the curvature of the image. ??? Grain has a charm that smooth doesn't. [Topaz deNoise]

Very nice. It reminds me of Ralph Gibson.
Yep, grain sure adds a certain likeable aesthetic to some nude photography. Very nice.
And withour the grain this photo would be rather boring.
