It’s a very pleasant composition though I might have framed it with the lawn furniture about a foot to the left and left the fov the same.

I like the composition and I think the repositioning in your second photo has brought it up to a new level.
What I see: The first is more snapshot looking and the second is more artistic with a minimalism effect added. I like the high key but would like to see the top and left edge of the back of the chair and the top edge of the table that has disappeared; just enough for definition, just the thinnest line.

Nice one. Sorry you got some white stuff. But you got a nice picture out of it. I do like it with the added space on the right. Your perspective is different, but it gives a good slant to the scene.
