I got an email from B&H last night telling me that I could complete my order for the Brother laser printer. It should be here on Tuesday. I have several largeish printing jobs waiting for it. The toner that's included won't print many pages, so I'll order more.

Looking at $70 for Epson toner and $10 for generic, I'm wondering. I'm ordering the Epson toner just to play it safe. Do any of you use generic TN760 toner?

I have a Canon laser printer that is at least 15 years old. I have always used generic toner cartridges without any issues.

Yes, I use generic TN760 for Brother printer. Ink may be less than what it says on Amazon, but the Brother takes it like its own.

Do you stick to one particular brand of toner?

I wonder why a Brother printer would take Epson toner?

Well, now, you're getting a look at my aging mind. 🤣

I had Epson on my mind because I want to get inside that. Brother toner for a Brother laser printer. Epson ink for an Epson printer.

Try Linkyo toner for Brother. Mine is in its 2nd year. Might be time to call Amazon and put in another refill.

I have used ink from Ink Technologies for years. Their ink works fine and they have a reward system. They keep track of your purchases in the past, which allows for easy reordering.

I have had excellent results using Arthur Imaging Compatible Cartridge Replacement for Brother, purchased from Amazon. My Brother printer has been great, and I no longer have to mess with ink cartriges.

Incidentally, Brother printers will display a "toner low" error message when it "thinks" it is time to replace the cartridge. However, the printer software keeps track of the number pf pages printed and the replacement message is based upon the page count rather than a measurement of the actual toner used. For example, if 20 pages are printed with only one word, the printer treats this the same as if 20 pages were printed completely covered with characters, using much more toner. Because of this, a cartridge might be scheduled for replacement when it is in fact still capable of printing many more pages. The solution is to reset the page count when the "toner low" message appears, and continue printing until the toner actually runs out, with streaky characters. There are Youtube videos detailing the procedure to do this. (Unfortunately, the video I found a few years ago is no longer available.)

I’ve had an Epson Eco tank ET 4850 printer for a year and a half now. My wife prints documents on it almost every day. I’ve printed tons of 4 x 6 and 5 x 7 prints on it which come out beautiful. Ink levels are still at half from the original bottles. When it comes time for me to buy new ink, the total cost for all bottles will be $38 from Epson. This printer has never dropped the Internet connection since I’ve owned it. Have had zero issues with it. Could not ask for a better printer.

Prior to this printer I had an HP all in one photo inkjet printer for eight years. I spent $171 on average in ink refills every other month. I had to constantly reconnect the wireless Internet connection because it constantly dropped. Tons of paper jams. Had to replace two printheads totaling about $100.

I had no idea that the Epson eco tank printers could be so good and I’m so glad I switched.

I use a BW laser printer from Brother. I have used a local guy to refill my cartridges but this company is better.
