All these "old" folks are alive and well, yet about to beat the expected oldest average age expectancy. I wonder why? Well, my opinion is simple, everyone has kept their minds busy, kept walking around and still found things to fascinate them.

It doesn't matter what you've forgotten. There are lots of new and interesting things to find and enjoy. I'm almost the baby of this group at 74. I remember lots of things and I've forgotten lots of things, too. Everyday, I wake up and wonder what kind of adventure I'm going to have happen! Keep shooting and enjoy the time we have today!

Not quite. I'm 71. And I'm sure I'm not the youngest one here. :-)

I'm 76, memory seems to decrease each day. 20 yrs ago I had a camera, either a Pentax Program or Ricoh XRP, had both, don't remember which I used. But it allowed me to place it on a tripod near my birdbath with a 36 exposure roll of film and it would take photos till the roll ended. I could set it at different intervals from 15 seconds to 60 seconds between exposures. Got a lot of good bird photos that way but don't remember the gear I used. Any old time film fanatics out there that might jog my memory? I was a collector and had about 40 cameras, Pentax, Ricoh, Nikon, Mamya 645, Yashicamat 6x6, Rolleiflex, and a host of old rangefinders

I'm 87 and here are a couple of tips from Clint Eastwood to beat the sucks. Stay active, have an exercise program at least several days a week and if when you get up in the morning the old man tries to sneak in, kick him out

At 91.5 I agree. Getting old sucks.

I'll be 91 in January. Not looking forward to sucking next year. Wish me luck!

IF one maintains reasonably good health and the RIGHT ATTITUDE, getting old does NOT suck.

The answer is to make it suck as little as possible.

THAT'S the right attitude.

I just went on vacation with a friend who will turn 90 next month - three weeks walking up and down the hills of Portugal to the extent practical. The rental car and public transportation helped a lot.

You just can't let it stop you from living.

It doesnt, biggest thing is memory, a good day is when I walk into a room and remember why I came, I'm an Officer in the local Vfw, We meet at a local resteraunt 2nd tuesday of each month, in August I finished mowing my grass, took a shower, got dressed in my VFW uniform and went to the restaurant. The guy asked if I had a reservation. Told him I'm early just seat me where the VFW is meeting. He informed me it was Wednesday, not Tuesday. A few days later, middle of downtown, I could'nt remember what I was there for, on returning home I remembered I went to get gas for the mower. I am quite active and go to lakes, beach, parks and festivals to take pictures, but when you forget where you're going, IT SUCKS!

Sorry to hear...start thinking positive, e.g. you're STILL ALIVE!

PS: If you are in the bathroom and you don't remember why you entered, that surely is a problem.

I think I've had that conversation with myself several times! If I made notes about it... I cannot find those either!

I'm 78 and still kicking! My brother and I have a non-profit, and I pick up food donations from healthy food stores (no junk food) to distribute to those in need. I have distributed over 85,000 pounds of food, which is a lot to lift at y age. My mind still feels young, even though sometimes my body tries to tell me otherwise. Thankfully, most people guess me to be in my 50's.
