Whoops!

I brought my little DJI Pocket 2 with me to a ukulele jam yesterday. I hadn't used it in a while, and I grabbed it as I was heading out the door. I put it on the table and pushed the Record button. Fortunately, I checked it a few minutes later. "No SD card found."

All my other cameras are set not to operate with memory, but that's not an option on this. As I said, this was just a last minute thought, so it didn't matter. If it was something important, I think I would have checked the card and brought a spare. That's what I like to think, at least.

Coincidentally, I had received two new MicroSD cards in the mail before I left the house.

If we have to blame someone, it might as well be him.

Are you implying that my group doesn't sound good? 😁

I wasn't going to record for any serious purpose. If I were, I'd probably use the good equipment that the sound guy in the group has. He does music for movies and professional productions. I make videos for my own amusement. Other people will film a song or two with their phones.

I keep meaning to buy the external mic for that, but I wonder if I really need it.

I have the wireless mic kit and it is very good with voice, like in interviews. I don't know how it might work with music, like with live instruments.

That is why I asked about how you record music.

You make a good case why some of us prefer a camera with two card slots. (I do have pocket cameras with one.) I have lots of SD cards; I take one card out to download pictures; I never take both cards out of a functioning camera; and I leave the camera sitting (in the way) under the iMac computer until it has two cards inserted again. The one card cameras are never put away empty (all are stored out of sight).
About once a year a gremlin steals one of the cards and I leave home with an empty camera. Not my fault.
