None of them will want to do it but in many cases, one or more of them will have to take on the job until some other poor worker can be hired at less pay. The problem is that none of these managers have a clue as to how to actually do the work so the project will become a chaotic mess and the product will be awful.

The sad truth is Dave probably didn't go to College, learned his Plumbing at the Utility and Union Schools and most likely trained all of those Advisors and Supervisors. ONE would have been enough to keep the Customers happy and not to interrupt Dave who was doing what was needed to restore service.

I see Dave has no safety gear such as hard hat, there are no restraints on the wall for support so I would quickly hire a safety manger for this work.

Dave won't get fired. They'll fire 3 managers, create a new position that incorporates the duties of the 3 fired managers and save on the salaries of 2 managers. The new position will be at a lower pay than any of the 3 fired managers, thereby saving more money.

years ago on a return drive from Clevland to NY brothwr and I saw 16 road repair/construction crews. Of the 102 crew members we saw only 15 were actually working. Yes we counted, noticed this on way out and just had to verify
that we had the wrong jobs.

My dad and I were driving past a crew standing alongside a roadside ditch. One fella was doing something inside the ditch, six were standing along the rim of the ditch leaning on shovels. My dad remarked, "If they ever invent a shovel that stands by itself, those guys will be out of a job."
