Beautiful shot! Live in Los Angeles and dad would take the family up to Yakima where he came from every summer from the time of my birth in 1951, until my last visit in 1962. Just beautiful there and I do remember those electrical storms as well and all the delicious produce especially the world famous apples!

The cropped versions are nice. But then I go back to the original, and I see the value of (and the need for) the distant hills. They add a dimension to the image that is lost when excluded. They provide a natural end to the fog and nicely frame the valley in which it resides.

I agree with this. The cropped version is lovely, but there’s no end to the whiteness of the fog on top, which lets my eye travel out of the image. The hills block that movement and keep me in the image.

Thank you very much, Jared, and I'm pleased you like the third iteration. Sometimes it takes a village

By golly, you might be right, Mike! Thanks so much.

I keep cringing over the mustard yellow UHH page, though. Some b&w just don't look right

Agreed that a white or black, or even a grey background would enhance the images.
I like the crop; maybe add just a touch of contrast to this image? Possibly hit the clouds with a bit of midrange burning to add some tonal texture/ separation in the layers?
Overall a lovely image. I like the geometrics involved here and the layering.

Thanks much! There are definitely a lot of ways to edit and adjust this one

UHH does have the feature to click the photo itself in order to view on black. I think you have to turn on the feature in your profile. For the aspect ratio of this photo, though, it pretty much fills the page.

It looks great on a 27" monitor when displayed full screen. It might be a scene that demands a large panoramic print.

I like the original more. Shows the vastness of the fog.
The mountains are a nice delimiter between the sky and fog.
