This isn't good. I got an offer from Amazon to select "No-Rush Shipping" and get an additional 1% in Rewards. I'm barely getting "Rush-Shipping" now. It can take over a week to get a two-day package. I paid $150 for Prime, and it's now $179. If I accepted their offer, I would get an additional dollar back on a $100 order. No big deal.

Prime eliminated a subscription to The Washington Post, and they charge for many of the videos they offer online. Increasing the cost of Prime and slowing down delivery is not good. The main advantage of Prime for me is the free delivery. I've placed 440 orders since January 2022. That's about $2.93 delivery charge for each order, which I'm sure is less than I would have had to pay for shipping cost.

For us, less than a dozen Amazon orders per year, Prime is not cost effective.
(Some items have shipped free anyway.)

I tried prime a couple of times and it was a waste of money and the last time was the free trial period. But I do not by much through Amazon so it was not worth it to me.

Walmart give you free shipping for orders over $35, usually quick delivery, that's with out an annual fee.

Isn’t that $.29 per order?

I ordered guitar strings from Amazon on Thursday at noon and got them Friday at noon. Pretty good service if you ask me. I do have Prime.

Not if you divide 440 by 150. I'm glad you caught that. I don't have an excuse ready, yet, but I'll work on it.

It's not just shipping - prime video is included with your subscription and it's got a ton of great programming.

Shipping seems to vary greatly depending on where people live from what I've observed from these discussions. I live in a thinly populated county. Nearest anything is 10 to 30 miles away. Yet, FedEx deliveries on time and drops large items at my door, 250 feet down the driveway. UPS generally puts things in the large box at the top of the driveway and is probably the one late most often, by a day or two. If one is on the interstate about 9:15, you can see all the UPS vehicles going west from the center. We have prime and most things are on time, maybe once a year some package seems to get lost in loops within the post office system, I can see it go from location to location, eventually it arrives, but by then Amazon has replaced everything and tells me to keep it all. What surprises me most about Prime is how they ship heavy items like a gallon bottle of cement additive for free at a price less than I get buy it at Lowes. I bought a plastic building from Amazon, lowest price and shipped free. Truck arrived, the two drivers moved the three 250lb boxes into my pickup, I then drove it into my garden area, slip the boxes out onto boards and done. If I bought it from Lowes, I am just outside the free shipping zone. But with Amazon, I got it on time (actually early) cheaper, no shipping charges, and never had to lift anything.

Over the years, I have been asked many times, How are you going to get it out of the car or truck, if we have to get in it? Getting things out is easy, lifting 3 250lb, 8' long boxes into a truck is not, inclined planes, gravity, etc. are great helpers, but usually in only one direction.

I've been a subscriber to Amazon Prime for 10+ years. I order frequently. I realize I might be paying more for some items, but the convenience, excellent service and not having to drive to comparable stores to shop is a gift. For most orders, I receive the item the next day.

I absolutely love Amazon Prime. Order tons of items from Amazon, and watch lots of movies on Prime Video. Best deal around.

I watch free movies on Prime every night. I also rent a few for a very nominal price.

Well, here are two experiences for things NOT ordered from Amazon. Last week it cost me about $11 shipping for 2 ball caps. Today I just order some pocket-sized electronics for my wife and shipping was over $17 — and delivery will be 8 - 10 days!

I will continue to have my Amazon Prime membership. I don't know why you are having delivery delays. A delay to me means it takes 3 days rather than one or two. With all of the Amazon warehouses in the Houston area, delivery is often same-day or overnight.
