In many parts of the country, it's time for falling leaves, raking leaves, mulching leaves and simply admiring them. Leaves needn't be of the Autumnal variety so participation is possible for all.

We had our first sprinkle of snow this week. On my walk, I found the first 2 leaves.

Participation is open to all. Participate by clicking the "reply" button below and attach your image and your reply.

Beautiful start, Pat, Thank you for another good challenge.
Of course we don't have very much that has turned down here yet but I do have some in the archives for later.

Our yopon holley is still green, but then it stays green year round.

P. 1 Wonderful set. The effect you had with your 5th picture was the effect I was trying to achieve with my 1st and 3rd pictures on P. 1 Trying a new camera and couldn't seem to get the foreground as clear as I wanted and the leaves in the back blurred. I used the 'wide single point (new for me) and an f stop of 11. I also tried f5 but it didn't seem any better.

Thank you!
That picture was taken with an 18-300 lens at 18mm 1/60th f4, the camera was held very low (just about on the water) and focused close.
It also appears that It covers a greater distance than yours, making it easier to get the background out of focus, also, being on a slow moving portion of the creek, the scene was dead flat.

It's no wonder I never get housework done .I get easily distracted by photo subjects. Tried dusting last week and there was this brown, shriveled "frond" sitting on a hutch. Hadn't been there before or I'd have noticed it. Good bye dusting hello photo fun...

Nice find!
Just remember, the housework will still be there when you are done with the important (fun) stuff... I haven't seen it disappear yet .

Fall represents a time of year and a time of life and the cycle of life itself.

I'm jumping in late as usual lately. And on the run again. But I'll ad a quick few from Florida. We don't really get the change of seasons here. So my leaves may not look like everyone's.

I love the cinnamon ferns.

Bamboo Man was an experimental thing at Animal Kindom that almost no one saw. I think he is very impressive, and glad I got a photo.

And I'll leave you with a poem I wrote over 50 years ago, on an image I took in my home state of Indiana.
