Just curious - How many of you (men, only) have a mustache or beard of any kind? I had a mustaches for decades, and then I shaved it off. Now, I have a mustaches and chin whiskers. Since Covid, many more men have beards.

Full beard since 1971.

I can't remember when I didn't have a beard and/or a mustache. My Aunt Kaye always said "A kiss without a mustache is like an egg without salt". If shaving takes about 5 minutes per day, I now have 30 hours per year to do something else with. Not only that, but, if I go bald, I can turn my head upside down, How cool is that?

Nice.
My mum once had a partner, Max, whose 'head was on upside-down', as she often used to joke. Max was the loveliest bloke and the best partner that my mum ever had, but sadly, he died suddenly at age 41 back in the late '80s. My mum has since passed away too, in 2007, at age 67. And my dad passed away this year, age 93 on 27-Sep-2023. My dad was always clean shaven.

My wife's dad always wore a beard too. He was born in 1918 and he passed away in his 90s a few years ago. He would be over 100 years old if he was still alive now.

I have a full beard. I used to keep it trimmed when I was working but now that I'm retired I only trim it for special occasions. In 40+ years I've only removed it twice; once when I had poison ivy and one time just to see how I'd look. My own grand daughter, 16 years old didn't recognize me until I spoke. Neighbors we've had for years didn't recognize me. It's the perfect disguise.

Now I thinking of growing it back since all my hair is white. Seems to grow faster, my beef is razor blades. Why are they so expensive even before the inflation problem? Gillett blades,3 for 7 bucks that's crazy.

I buy a big bag of those green disposable razors. I seldom use a razor these days. I have and electric by the computer and another on by the TV, so I can pick one up and do a quick shave on the non-beard portion of my face.

I get those who have beards as a result of the aging process; we get (myself included) lazy about some things. But more and more it seems a huge number of young men have beard. Is it a fashion statement, or what. The only beards I hate, young or old, are the ones that are not neatly trimmed: the Rip Van Winkle look, it seems excessively lazy.

You've been here since 2013 and your first post is an insult to men who choose to grow a beard? Also double posted and shouting (using all caps which is against the rules of the site).

60 years of full facial hair of various lengths.
It was either shave every d day, or trim on Saturday.
Plus I never liked the idea of catering to pedophiles by looking pre pubescent.
Clean shaven was a WW! artifact to use a gas mask efficiently.
I don't even have a gas mask.

Grew my Mustache out in 1967, as a Young Pup, and it's still there, - unlike the Hair on Top of my Head!

Clean shaven since my facial hair turned white. Used to have beard and mustache. If my facial hair was still dark and soft I would continue to keep it.

I had a mustache off and on... most off than on. When COVID hit, I started to grow the mustache and it got "carried away". When people ask my wife about it, she responds "you learn to pick your battles."

The chin goes gray first, early 20s for me, the mo and eyebrows go last.
