Copying photos from iPhoto on a MAC

I've loaded most if not all of my photos into iPhoto on my MAC and done most of the tinkering with them there. However, I've found I can't copy them from there to another file or into a document. Anybody know how to do this?

Have you clicked the photo, it should get a yellow border and in the lower right corner of the pic an arrow should appear, click arrow for menu appears, click copy. Open doc in Pages, edit click paste.

Open Iphoto, go to album photo is in, open album, click on and highlight photo, go to top of page and click on Edit, a menu will drop down, click on Copy, down size album, open document, click on document , go to top of page, click on edit, scroll down to Paste, click on Paste. That photo is now in your document. Nothing like a PC but easy once you learn
I usually will google what I want to learn using a mac,/copy paste mac/ tons of tutorials out there

Thanks Rbode. Tried it and it works. Didn't know about the arrow part. Put it into both a Word & PowerPoint document just as a test.

You can usually just drag it where ever you want it. I drag mine out of iphoto into photoshop Elements or into my external hard drive.

Can you not just use the Export command?

you can click on them and drag them onto your desktop and put them in a folder or another easy way is to email them to yourself , is this what you are looking to do?

The simple way is to select the photos you want to export and then press shift command E. This brings up a dialogue box with all sorts of options including the file format, size and the next one is the directory to save to. Just follow the prompts.

PS I thought I should share a photo of our kookaburra (one of king-fisher family)

Why not open iPhoto and choose the files you want to export, of course you can create a folder where you wish to export the photo or photos too. You can also choose the form you wish toe export the files, original, jpeg, and you can also choose the file size.
