I am sure sorry to hear that! "Getting older is not for the weak," as my mom used to say (98.5 at death). And then when you have extraneous forces that happen out of the blue, well, that puts an extra layer of troubles into the equation

Where I have my little weekend place near Laporte, IN, there are a lot of old, old structures where I often see stuff I find unusual. ) When my mom died, she left behind her adjustable aluminum cane, and it just occurred to me that it wouldn't be so hard to carry for those situations when getting back up required a little support

I worked as a dock supervisor for 13 years, and when I needed something out in the yard, I'd just jump off the dock. I was 30 then. One of my older crew guys told me to stop it because it would come back to roost. I told him I didn't feel like walking the three hundred feet back to the stairs - and continued to do it.
