Mustache since summer of 1971, it was the last time it was removed. Started a bead a few weeks ago, I just may remove it.

I've had my full beard and mustache since 1967. I was in the US COAST GUARD in Alaska and it was the centennial year up there so we were allowed to wear beards. In Dec. of that year I was on leave in the lower 48 and my promotion came through and I stopped in S.F. to get a new ID card and they took the picture with my beard on since it was allowed. Got back from leave and the XO told me I had to shave. I asked if we could do an ID card now and he said no. I told him my face had to match the card and he laughed and said I had outfoxed the "powers that be". Have had the beard ever since. I don't keep it as neat as when I was working but I trim it at least every month.

Had a mustache since 63 and a full beard since 80,trim my beard back to about a 4inch length about every 2 or 3 months. My family have recently requested that I let it grow longer.

16 hairs on the left side and 22 on the right, preclude the pleasure of owning a beard or mustache.

LOL; I was in the same boat until about age 30, since then I have always had a mustache, full beard about half the time.

Just curious - How many of you (men, only) have a mustache or beard of any kind? I had a mustaches for decades, and then I shaved it off. Now, I have a mustaches and chin whiskers. Since Covid, many more men have beards.
Wow 9 pages.... Since I have not been able to grow hair on the top of my head (25 years ago) I shave the head and have a very short full beard. With the correct tools one can trim it every 4-5 days

Beard and mustache since approx 1972, mostly kept neatly trimmed exept for several years seeing how long (it and long hair for a while - trimmed it at mid chest, then went back to just a couple inches).....

Since my wife got called home, a lot of things don't seem important anymore, shaving is one of them.

I've had a mustache all of my adult life, and a couple years ago when I retired I decided to stop shaving entirely. It seems to me that beards are very popular now.

Yes, they sure Are!
I quit trying for a mustache after abt 6 mos back in '77 .... started b/c I was stuck away from home for 4 days. Thought it would make a good suveneer!
But Now, I have a nice tight patch on my chin ....Again, a left-over reminder of our Christmas blizzard of '22! (No use complaining anyone: I LIKE it!)

Back in 1983 I came back from a three week horse camping trip with a three week growth. Decided, what the heck ,lets see where this goes. Haven't shaved since; just quick trim. Had a mustache a few years only before that. Beats shaving everyday.

I shaved my mustache the first year we were married. My wife had never seen me without one. Insisted that I grow it back. That was 45 years ago.

Last shave was Christmas Eve 1979. That fall I was in a play, playing three "bit" parts: sea captain, soldier, and priest (Shakespeare). The play director requested I grow a beard for the parts which I did. The beard was shaved the morning after the play closed. My two sons who were 9 and 11 at the time said the beard made me look more like a professor (I am a retired chemistry prof.). Over Christmas break in '79, there was no shaving. First day back in class Jan. of 1980, my returning students had positive statements to say about the new beard. I do shave my neck with an electric razor and keep the beard trimmed at the insistence of my wife. With very few exceptions, all beard trimming has been done by me. My wife tried to trim it one time. Thank goodness, hair grows back! Sorry for the rambling.

Never been good with hair on my face. But, in the service we were a group detached from the rest and never got promoted. We would be in and out of HQ. The First Sargent said to me one time " no one knows you guys, so you get passed over". I grew stupid looking handlebar mustache. The next time promotions came up, I got a call from the 1st Sgt. and said, " Your name came up and some one said, who is he. Another one said " he is the dopey bastard with the handle bar mustache. Another on said "I know him. give it to him" . I shaved that day and other guys started to grow facial hair.

I shaved mine off while I was working. When I went back the next day, I said I didn't shave - I just forgot to glue the mustache on. Over the weekend, I bought one that looked just like mine. Lots of laughs.
