That’s not the question I asked. Some people have ‘’stuck’ with DSLR. I’m not sure what their reasons are. I don’t know off-hand whether this will change their reasons. You should not assume that they will change now - burst speed, etc, may not be important to them. When our older daughter got married, the photographer had us stop at a particular point - burst speed clearly didn’t matter to her; I suspect manners are more important to her than is using equipment in the headlines. We will see whether they change now.

I NEVER said they should switch, read what I wrote more carefully. You are making arguments that no one started but yourself. Totally off topic here, sorry. That DSLR Vs mirrorless argument has dozens of previous UHH threads with hundreds of comments. No need to start that again.
I was just commenting on the facts of the marketplace right now. Use whatever cameras you wish and be happy. I have used them all in my 50 year pro career and loved all my gear and made award-winning shots with them all.
Relax . Years from now it is likely global shutters will be the norm, and they wont ever be DSLRs.
In the meantime, use your DSLRs until they cant be repaired anymore and be happy.
Cheers and best to you.

I’m not sure a ‘global shutter’ can’t be used with a DSLR. Pentax already has a DSLR which uses its ‘exposure sensor’ to focus on eyes; if the price of the sensor used in this new camera drops enough, perhaps they will implement ‘global shutter’ in Live View. In the meanwhile, there is no reason for discontinuing the production of DSLRs.

Well you know the camera market better than they do evidently.
Tell you what...
You should boot strap together a camera company...DSLR only...and show everyone what is obvious to you.
Maybe you can turn OM-D around...

As a matter of fact I do know the first.
I don’t thoroughly know the second, or I would work for Sony.
Do you?

Well, if you had known the the answer to the first question "do you know what a global shutter is?" why would you have made such a statement as this, you would have been sure?

The Pentax wizards sometimes do things that had seemed to be impossible by those who know, but I’m not sure they would think it’s worth their time.

Wow ! I suppose we are now going to get a detailed expansion on what those "things" are?

I’m not one of those “wizards” - but so far, they’ve implemented recognizing / focusing on eyes by the “exposure”/focusing sensor, for example.

I'll assume you are joking...
Then I take it back...don't start a camera company...you have no idea.
Pentax will be buying global shutters...from Sony...guaranteed.
