My first real car was a red Belvedere convertible. I still miss it.

Certainly a confirmation of Virgil Exner's mastery of over-the-top styling in the day of fins! Good job of capturing the best views of this car.

Great shots of a great car; although, I always preferred the fins on the '57 and '58 DeSotos. Whatever happened to that great brand?

That great brand faded into obscurity mid year 1961.

Did this one have push button gear selector ? Learned to drive on a 57 Plymouth stick shift dual wheel and pedals given to my High School by local dealer ( Washington DC).
Schools where my grandchildren attended (Dallas) only offered classroom instruction, any schools still offering behind the wheel instruction?

I always remember the first years of the Mopar Fins in 1957. Just like it was designed to β€œlift off” at 55 mph.
(The speed limit has inched up just a bit since 1957!)
