Beautiful photo. I'd say you are right about the timing because when the roof goes, the rest is not far behind.
Very enjoyable composition and details, with a sky and soft light that compliments the scene. Like it a lot!
Lovely tone, well composed =
Excellent. I'll bet it would be great in monochrome, too.
Pretty nice drive by shot...
That is a really well done image, John!
A few years back, old barn wood was in demand for decorative and building purposes. Consequently many dilapidated barns in these parts were taken down for their old wood. That fad seems to have faded.

Very nice find but I feel you may be too much of an optimist on this one.
Very cool capture! If only the barn could talk.
Old barns are beautiful. They have offered shelter for so many years. When they can no longer do their job, unfortunately they are left to their own demise. It's very expensive to repair them (I can attest to that!). It's about equally expensive to tear them down.
Nice shot. Thanks for posting
Many thanks to all who responded...I appreciate your comments and happy to see you enjoyed this old barn as much as I do.
My thoughts were to add the dead tree and broken windmill in the image to give credence to the barn's age. Also, wanted to use the gravel road and old fence as leading lines into the image. The soft fall colors and grey sky really enhanced the image for me. Have photographed this beauty many over the last twenty years or so and feel this may be my best attempt to date.
Thanks again for your enthusiasm for this image!!
Would be nice to see a B/W version
