Sorry, Linda, but I love them all. I’d hang each if them on my walls!

All three are great for different reasons. I hate when I'm so indecisive, which is most of the time.
Thanks very much, Dave. I'm finding it harder and harder to make decisions. Surely it's not our age?

#3 is my favorite…clean, simple, uncluttered composition.

Seeing #1, I wanted #3. Seeing #2, I was encouraged, but still disappointed. Then, #3; it is the one for me.

I like the last one, it removes all the unnecessary

Thank you! That seems to be the consensus, and I'm finally convinced

My assignment was to shoot for high contrast that day (a small flickr group that has weekly themes). But your observation speaks to the need to work with the conditions rather than fight them

Thanks, Kathy! You are spot-on. I try to be aware of my tendency to include so much that the story is muddied.

Linda in my earlier years I had a professional photographer who to look at an image, decide what adds to, or detracts from. If it doesn't add to the story, crop it out. Sometimes hard to in original compositions - one I continue to to work on.
I believe you ' got it'.
