Thank you. I have had this printer for 5-6 years & while i do not print volumes, it probably doesn't owe me anything. I will try the canon ink trick ( have a full set of 8) Was trying to work in some non oem's to use them up.
I always check & replace when the light blinks. My carts are transparent / clear. Thank you for your input.
Thank you for the detailed reply. It is appreciated Seems like most every time i turn the printer on, to print, it automatically cleans the print heads. ( just a personal observation) So that could lead to clogging below the heads ?

First and foremost — *Canon will not charge you for help*!! You’ve dialed a spoofing number. Go to USA.canon.com (on tablet and don’t know how to copy exact link) and then find their ‘support’ page for the correct phone number.
But also, I would agree with the several comments about using 3d party inks - especially the ‘bargain’ brands. (There are some, such as precisioncolors.com that have reputations for top quality products and good communication with customers.)
You may have to purchase and install a new print head - probably around $200 to $300 - or just replace the printer with a newer Pro-200 model. OEM ink is less expensive on the newer Pro-200, but still not cheap.
Let us know your final decision/results - and good luck!

Here is the official Canon USA support page for the Pro-100:
https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-pro-100Go there, register your product and the request support.
There may be a fee for out of production products but it won't be a scam.

The newer Canon Pro-200 will Not accept 3rd party ink cartridges. The OEM cartridges are completely black now and you cannot see how much ink is left versus the Pro-100. The Pro-100 cartridges are see through. Also there are not any chip resetters for the Pro-200. Seems Canon has dried up that market with their new printers. I sold my Pro-200 just for this reason and bought a New Pro-100 which accepts 3rd party ink cartridges. I print a lot of pictures. I also use Precision Colors ink and cartridges with No issues. I cannot tell Any difference with Precision inks and OEM. Pro-200 uses the same print head as the Pro-100.
I use only OEM cartridges. Canon support has been excellent and free. I did have to replace the print head, and a year later I again had a problem. I was able to resolve it by the cleaning process in the driver software.

So what you’re telling me is that when my current Pro-100 dies I should try to find another one?

Ya unfortunately if you want to continue using 3rd party ink. Good luck finding one though. Can be had on eBay but Expensive now! I’ve read that printer manufacturers make a Huge profit on the OEM ink they sell so I understand why Canon went this route with their new printers. Not sure if Epson does the same now. I used to use 3rd party ink in my Epson printers but I dumped them due to constant clogs.
