The good 'ol days when...

Women used to dress nicely, "fix" their hair and apply a little make up before going ANYWHERE. Now, you see women everywhere with dirty or stringy (or both) hair, no make up and even saw one in Walmart with her pajamas on. At least she was covered...BUT the bottom and top pajamas didn't match. She should have covered her head too!
I promised my husband before we married that I would fix myself up every morning to look as near how I looked when he met me and liked me, as physically possible. Always did...still do, even though he has been gone over 4 years. Just habit. People can do better, they just get lazy I guess.
The women here look awful!!!

You are what is called dignity. Unfortunately, that is not a part of our culture any more.

My lovely wife does her hair every day and I for one appreciate it more than she knows--even though I tell her that frequently. I, on the other hand, have lost most of my hair so it's not a problem for me.
You two have that mutual admiration! A true blessing!

If you saw most of the women in my town, it would be obvious that they do not care one bit about how they look anytime or anywhere. Many of them would fit right into some of the sad, poor places shared with us on here.
Those people can't help it. We can.

Now who's being sexist? Today's men are even worse. Bird nests, string mops, and dead octopi on their heads, enough ink to print a run of the New York Times, and attitudes gained from watching today's TV. And yes, I'm rather old.

People will do what people do. Long hair on men in the fifties, hippie clothes and attitudes, eighties punk, new wave and heavy metal. The parade of adolescent fads and fancies continues today. Then you grow out of it, or away from it, and get sucked in to work uniforms. Where's your tolerance and understanding? I'm eighty, and I don't fear ink or piercings. I fear suits far more.
I was in a grocery store trying to get my wife’s groceries list filled when this very beautiful lady with blonde long hair and blue eyes stopped at front of me trying to rich on the top shelve for a box of cereal. I couldn’t help myself and I was admiring her excellent figure but when I saw her pants with the ripped off across her knees, I dropped the groceries and ran home to my wife.

In general, men don't have to do much to look nice. Just clean up wear nice, clean clothes. Some go bald but I like that. I LOVE a beard that is neatly trimmed and cared for, even a bit shaggy is not too bad, but the "man buns", pony tails, comb-overs and ink, not for me.
We can't help what changes as we get older, but we can at least do our best to look our best for the one we adore.

There's always been something.
Reading ALL of these replies, it seems like you all are a bunch of old people living in the past. But ya know something, you are all correct! I can still remember the way the young ladies dressed in high school. Made your head turn. I am 81, living in the past, and loving it!

I think the past was a lot prettier than the present and would probably not like seeing the future.
