Every one of our kids were with an adult parent. We have a designated time for trick-or-treat and while I haven't heard of any crime in my neighborhood, the neighborhood watch folks were out patrolling the area.

When I see one of these comments in the Chit-Chat Section it makes me wonder if the original post was entered in the wrong section and then moved or is it that the person making the comment didn't know what section he was in.

I saw quite a few of those post and I know all of the thread starters started the thread in the General Chit Chat Forum. I think the ones made the comment thought the UHH is about photography only.

I've been losing weight but I can't eat candy that would make my blood sugar goes way high.

What! If you don't photograph all those kids in cool costumes how can you call yourself a photographer?! Get with the program, man!

I am not sure photographing kids is a good idea. Some parents may get mad.

My sugar level once got up to border-line, but I lost 36 pounds and it's been OK since then.

In our area the local shopping center sponsored trick or treating for the youngsters, and one of our local high school also had a trunk or treat event where school clubs gave away candy and also had activities for the kids.

Overall, the changes are giving the children the experience in a safer environment.

I do miss seeing the kids come to the door in their costumes.

What does this have to do with photography?

We wanted to see how many of those kids would pose their smiles. It's practice for when the folks will be taking in a couple of months from now.

Put up a sign stating that all "tricked up" kids will be shot on approach.

Serious for the mo, ask nicely of the parents and offer them an opportunity to get the shot e-mailed to them.

We live on a short (colt sac) with no outlet.
I left the house at 5:30 p.m. to attend a children's Halloween Carnival.
I left a bowl of candy sitting on the front porch, in plain sight, and left the porch
lights on, as well as a motion detector light to light the yard when kids approached.

Just as last year.....no kids came for candy.
( haven't checked the outside video camera.) Could be an occasional coyote or
neighbors cat, stopped by for sniff, but the candy bowl wasn't disturbed.

Maybe I'll just leave a bowl of quarters and dimes in the dish next year, to see
if kids values have hanged over the years.
(Actually, a bowl of quarters, would cost less than a bowl of candy.)

Perhaps the kids were not comfortable just take the candies.

In the 28 years we've lived in this house we've had exactly ONE person come by. And that was years ago. My wife gets a bag of candy that she likes so it won't go to waste.
