sounds like the number of trick or treaters has been declining over the years and you are aware of it, the logical reaction should be ... cut back on the amount of candy you are buying???

I had more this year than last year - about eight. Last year it was zero. And that was after I bought a $20 bag of candy at Costco. Didn't buy nearly as much this year but still had too much left over.
I live a block from the high school and I have a bunch of high schoolers passing my house on the way to and from school. I was thinking of setting up a folding table in the front and putting the leftovers on it for the students. That is if I get it done before I eat the candy myself.

How much of those candies you gave to the kids?

We had a total of four kids last night - sixteen last year. Two tiny kids were escorted by their parents, and six more came in groups of two and four. In the past, we've had over a hundred kids show up, with cars lined up on the street bringing them from far and wide. I know there are fewer kids, but that's a huge drop in numbers. What in the world am I going to do with all this leftover candy?

One thing was funny/creepy. A tiny kid, maybe two years old, was escorted by his parents, obviously his first year trick or treating. As I opened the door and approached him, he looked concerned and backed away. When I held out the candy, he smiled and approached me. That's scary! Imagine that same scene with a windowless van.

The first kid arrived at 6:00, and the last at 6:50.

What does this have to do with photography?

It's in the General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk) section.
What's wrong with posting it here?

When I see one of these comments in the Chit-Chat Section it makes me wonder if the original post was entered in the wrong section and then moved or is it that the person making the comment didn't know what section he was in.

I think that he continues to make that mistake. His most recent post was about his watertank.

I hate to tell you this, but 2 plus 6 is 8, not 4. I had 0, mostly because I locked the doors, turned off all the lights, and retreated to my office to work on photos.

We had about 40 this year. It was the first really cold night about 25 in central Indiana. It was also our first snow. Kids were in their thin costumes and the parents on the sidewalks wearing parkas

What! If you don't photograph all those kids in cool costumes how can you call yourself a photographer?! Get with the program, man!
