I have that same lens and take full moon pic every month from the beach front
You moon looks much bigger than mine at 550-600. I use under full 600 after speaking to tameron. They said back down a little from full 600. You said no teleconverter.
Did you enlarge the moon in post?

The 150-600mm Sigma is a great lens. I really have never noticed a difference if you shoot it at 600mm or 550mm. Yes the image was cropped during post production. Here is a uncropped image for you. The only thing I have done is re-scaled it to 1920x1280
