We made an unplanned trip to Eugene a couple of weeks ago. As I have often told my family, the problem with funerals is no one schedules them far enough in advance. Despite that we were able to rent a large Airbnb in the hills south of Eugene for many of our extended family members. Eugene is where I graduated from high school, but I have spent little time there in the decades (5) since.
We arrived well after dark, so early the next morning, when my body thought that according to Panama time I should be up, I went outside to walk around the property a little. I was immediately attracted to a weathered bench, although I had to wait for better light. The first and last photos here are of that bench.
Our last day there we had a late flight out, so we spent the day visiting a few of the many covered bridges in the area. I have included three of my favorite photos.

A beautiful set, although I am sorry for the occasion that prompted your trip.

Thanks. I guess I should have mentioned it was my father who died. He turned 98 and went to the hospital that afternoon. He enjoyed terrific health until the last 3-6 months. He made his last trip to Europe with me at 93.
Sorry for your loss.
Nice bridge though.
