And yet another disgusting prayer...
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), on Thursday said “we are really, really hopeful and prayerful” (but heck I will never vote to control firearms.)
How many politicians came out with this usual sing-song? How many here do the same thing? Hey! I am 'christian' I can pray, but hell will freeze over before I accept the mere idea that gun control is a small part of the solution...
So, yeah, another disgusting prayer from the same hypocrites, including some of you who are displaying how repugnant you are, for those who truly believe in God, not your 'god'.

Maine shooting, go ahead, pray.
At least Boebert didn't say "thoughts and prayers". Because she doesn't think. As clearly illustrated by her "Lewistown" reference. We should get her some knee pads, for all the time she must be spending praying and doing other stuff on her knees.

You call others repugnant while being repugnant yourself. You don’t know anyone’s heart.
What were you saying about hypocrisy?

If you look up repugnant in the dictionary, there will be a photo of Mike Johnson there.
The real question is, who is Mike Johnson, behind the mask of a normal person?
1. Mike Johnson is the guy who wants to teach the Bible in public schools as if it were actual history.
2. Mike Johnson is the guy who voted yes on a bill that would allow veterans to obtain and/or possess firearms even if they were mentally incompetent or insane.
3. Mike Johnson is the guy who totally disrespects women. During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Rep. Mike Johnson attacked Roe v. Wade, insisting that if only women were compelled to bring more "able-bodied workers" into the world, Republicans wouldn’t need to slash Social Security and Medicare.
4. Mike Johnson, in his inaugural speech as speaker of the House emphasized his Southern Baptist beliefs as the basis for his politics. Johnson holds "ultraconservative positions on abortion [...] and same-sex marriages".
5. Johnson was and still is an election denier, believing that Trump actually won the election.
This is just a sampling of what this lunatic believes in. If he is now 2nd in line for the Presidency and that should scare the hell out of you.

With all the "praying" going on, it is clear that it doesn't work.
Because there isn't really anything to pray to.

Lots of claims but but you failed to provide any evidence to back up those claims. I wonder why that is?

I know his place (number three) but second in line so you are correct.

It's because you're educationally challenged.
Everything I wrote can be confirmed by you with the tiniest bit of research.
Get off your ass and do it.

The gun ownership tipping point was passed some time ago. Now popular figures of hate and derision in the US are arming for protection against 'bad guys with guns and ropes'. I have no idea how to slow it down other than treating all semi-autos as a REALLY Big Deal and very difficult to possess legally. Semi-autos are an extremely dangerous class of weapon, as demonstrated weekly. Relax 'gunners', get a grip, it'll never happen ... tool up.
The new normal: Women and LGBTQ+ people are buying guns in 2020
A pandemic, a presidential election and racial unrest caused gun sales to surge. Will this usher in a new class of Second Amendment voters?

So now you would advocate making it difficult to own pistols. Welcome to California. Absent an impossible confiscatory policy the paste is out of the tube. Besides, as I and many have said, where there is a will, there is a way. Charles Whitman killed 16 with bolt action and pump deer rifles, Shinji Aoba killed 36 with a match, McVeigh and Nichols killed 136 with fertilizer. We live in a country who dispenses psychotropic drugs 3 times more than any other country, we promote that everyone is aggrieved, we seem to fail to identify and take appropriate action when it is obvious that someone has mental issues or is decompensating. Shit is going to happen.

I sincerely am sickened by such events, feel for the victims, hope they never personally touch me but am not naive enough to think anything you might suggest is ever going to change the trajectory of such events in our country when one looks at all the contributing factors.
