They are generally fairly small file sizes, so unless you have a ton of them, you can just email them to yourself and download them from your computer's mail service.

As a result of a similar discussion in 2017, I used a 'retired' iPhone to photograph our cat "Velcro" {who died in the early days of 2020}; I don't remember how I downloaded this photo {but I obviously couldn't use email, since the phone was no longer connected to the Internet}, I must have used either the cable or WiFi. {I believe WiFi could have provided a connection to 'OneDrive', but I'm not willing to experiment yet another time; I already talked about this on preceding pages}.

When I went to Israel in July, my iPhone was my go to camera indoors. It handled so much. Especially the small interiors. Outdoors I used my Nikon Z7ii with my 50mm 1.8. It was a great package! With the 43mp of the Z7 I could crop to whatever I needed with so much raw detail.

What a horrible situation there today.

I usually take photos with my Nikon camera but last week I was absolutley blown away with my cell phone camera.
I was doing a portrait shoot of two older women for a gallery. My camera battery died on me and I forgot to take another one. So, I used my cell phone camera and I was very taken aback how good the shots came out. The prints were amazingly clear.
How can this be ?

I have noticed that my I Phone does well in adequate light, outdoors, and can be enlarged or cropped nicely but in low light situations it fails. I have included two photos from similar originals and similar crops from inside a cathedral where flash is not allowed. A Nikon d7100, 1/50 sec, f5, ISO 6400 and one from my I Phone, 1/25 sec., f2.8, ISO 1000. Of course the Nikon is a 24mp camera where as the outdoor I Phone photos were 12mp and the one in the cathedral was only 6mp.

So what do you use to take video? You can take professional quality video with some cameras, and decent video with others, but most people are not buying cameras these days. They certainly aren't buying expensive, pro-grade camcorders. I use my cell phone to take pretty decent video. I have a ten year old Sony camcorder that is adequate in daylight but has noisy low light performance (Tiny sensor). I think that cell phones have probably already taken over video shot by most people. You see examples in the news every day. People who never even thought of shooting video are recording everything they see on their phones.
So what do you use to take video? You can take pr... (show quote)

I'm still dead in the market...still shooting stills primarily.

But I do have my eye on a switch/addition... a dedicated Sony full frame camcorder.

My iPhone was the only camera I had with me when I took my wife to the local train station and I was surprised how well it worked in dim light.

Different, but IMHO, both are beautiful shots in their own ways ⭐⭐⭐⭐

$$$ compared with a consumer grade camcorder, but you have to decide what suits you. I wouldn't waste money on one personally for the amount of video I take.

I've been looking at easing into it...Sony has some out there used for 2500...and will outperform every hybrid model they have.

Dedicated systems usually do.

First... a toe in...I have the glass already...not big bucks at all.

Thank you, we will always miss her.
We nicknamed her β€œthe gray lady”.

She got name from the fact she had trouble controlling her claws, so occasionally I would have to rescue her when she β€˜stuck’ to something.

You wouldn’t have been able to get that shot if you didn’t have your phone with 😜πŸ€ͺπŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

My cameras are set up for BBF and this is not conducive to others taking pics of us and a couple weeks ago someone offered to take a pic of us while on a mountain side vacation hike. I handed over my cellphone and was quite pleased with the results. Really great as opposed to nothing at all!

This prompted me to begin using my cell as a viable supplement. Now all I have to do is learn how to better use it.

What is BBF?

Ahh, now I know. I use it all the time with my Nikon. So much easier than holding the shutter half way down to focus. Great for sports and action. If you aren't using back button focus, you should try it. It's great!
