amyinsparta - I would like to be in either of these places, very nice.

PGuy - did you take that with your Fuji? I have a fuji 1000 and my niece has the 1500 - love them both. Great shot from so far away.

Yes I did. My trusty S1500. Thank You. I have an older Fuji that doesn't work any more so it is just collecting dust. I use my S1500 and my Kodak M530 for my photos currently and like them both but love my Fuji more.

And fuji takes really nice macro shots too. Have you used the macro setting?

Yes I have. Use it all the time. I tried the panoramic setting and didn't like it so I stopped using it and have not used the video mode yet but have used all the others. Sure is a great camera.

Oh I love the pano on my 1000, will have to play with my nieces 1500.

There really isn't much difference from the 1000 and the 1500. I have compared them and they both are really nice cameras. My local P.D. even had Fuji bridge cameras. I checked theirs out at a fire scene back in June and found that out so now if they have an issue with theirs on a scene, they ask me for assistance.

Thanks for the answer. Sounds like a good thing to do - meeting up with other photographers.
I can't upload any pictures. I have tried and tried. They won't send. I changed to Google Chrome still won't work. I give up. I'll just enjoy the pictures you all send in.

Thank You. That tree is on the 1st block of the downtown area of the city. Looks better with the snow than before with no snow. Now it fits the season more.

I click Add new Attachment, I Browse, add picture, add title, hit add attachment it leaves the title and takes away the picture information. I have let it sit waiting to see if it just takes time to load, never any indication that it is loading I sent a message yesterday, they suggested I change browser so I signed up for Google Chrome. Not sure what my problem is.

okay - I am out of ideas - lol - different people have had issues off and on and sometimes they work themselves out.... Wait for some folks to come on tomorrow and there may be someone who ca help. I know there are some who will try to help you any way they can. I have had issues when I had too many photos on my computer.
Have you tried to resize and make them smaller? That helps sometimes.

Well hello all you Hedgehogs... hopefully this will bring PEACE and EXCITEMENT to all. (BTW Sher great topic and very appropriate)
First of all, I want to thank all of you who respectfully put in your 2 cents. I really appreciate it. You are all an important part of UHH and we are a family. I, along with the majority of you all believe we have developed true deep bonds thru our Daily Challenge. We have been thru so much with one another. From the births of our future photographers, to great losses of friends and loved ones. We have been in the UHH waiting room during knee replacements and on the front step waiting for our UHH families when there is an emergency.
Recently, the frequency of the daily challenge has been brought up. I made a post earlier for you all to weigh in thinking you should have a say too.
Here is what I have decided to do… Tuesday, Jan 1, 2013 will be our awards day and typically that is my day… Starting Wednesday Jan. 2 2013 will be our hump day Challenge, thanks to GG. We will call it the UHHHDC (Ugly hedgehog hump day Challenge) which will run Wed thur Fri. our next challenge will run Sat thru Mon. and Tuesday’s will be a free day ( I’m calling it “Hit Me with your Best Shot”) So there will be 2 challenges a week plus the free day giving people time to get out and shoot and really work on their composition. I am calling it our ‘Weekly Challenge X’s Deux’ . (not set in stone)
I realize I can’t make everyone happy but I am hoping this is a happy compromise and will free some people up. I would have been ok with the daily challenge. Everyone appreciates a comment but I don’t want people and host to be over whelmed with comments. This should remain a safe place to come.
I am sure that when PG57 (Sherrie) started all this she never could have imagined the impact that it would have on others and the bonds that would have formed and the field trips planned!
So let’s move forward with our Challenge X’s Deux in 2013 with our cameras poised and ready as we spray and pray that we got the shot!
Annette

What does Challenge X's Deux mean? Sounds like a good plan. Are you going to host all three every week or do you want help with hosting?

First thought of Peace. A line from William Butler Yeats' poem, "The Lake Isle of Innisfree".... "And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;".... Found interesting that both of todays subjects originate only from within us....

As a participant, do you ever think to yourself, "I wonder where they come up with these topics?"

As a host, I sometimes wonder the same thing....As I am submitting my topics I feel excited about them, but then when the day comes I sometimes think to myself, "What was I thinking???"

So here are my examples for Peace/Excitement. This is the time of year when people everywhere are filled with emotion, so try to capture that.....or try for some red, or red and green, or red white and blue or whatever it is that inspires you to pull out your camera..

and my song for today...This 9year old child is amazing
