I walked out the back patio this afternoon and thought someone had left a branch in the yard. A closer look and it was our resident Black Racer who usually lives in our shrubbery, hadn't seen it in a couple of months and good to see its back again. I wanted to lie down in the grass to photograph it but any movement would have sent it scurrying...then I would have had the problem of getting back up.
It didn't stay long and it was off to its hole.
Invasive lizards don't stand a chance with this black beauty around...good to see its alive and doing well.

Understand, my wife will not even handle a frog or lizard, alive or dead, but she does like this snakeā¦.from a short distance. Cheers
Very nice photography and I agree that you are fortunate to have him!
Nice images but I hate snakes. I'll keep the lizards.
