I don't think I shared this image here on UHH
Last fall we noticed a nest off the edge of a trail we walk by the edge of woodlands to wetlands. We kept an eye on the nest hoping to see who or what reused in in the 2023 nesting season. Come May 2023 that watching paid off when we spotted a mature Great Horned Owl near the nest followed by spotting the youngster in the nest tree.
Owl fledgling grow restless and to large for the nest but still need lots of help from the parents. After they start wandering from the nest Mom and Dad keep returning with dinner. The fledglings will fly/hop to nearby trees but normally not straying far from the nest tree. Over the next couple weeks we revisited and were able to photograph the fledglings rapid growth.
This was from the last day we visited the nest. ( the adult was never far away but I was never to grab a worthwhile image of it.)
I don't think I shared this image here on UHH br L... (show quote)

This is a wonderful image. Seeing that you were from Delaware and have had other fine bird images, I have to ask if you are a member of the Delaware Valley Ornithilogical Club?

Thanks very much.
No I don't think I have ever heard of the club

The Deleware Valley Ornithilogical Club was established in 1890 as a scholarly organization formed to study birds. It has published a journal since 1901. But along side its academic arm, it also offers regular birding trips. I think some of these might be free to non members. At any rate for a birder or bird photographer living in Deleware, I think it would be worth your time to check it out on google. Thanks and as I mentioned earlier, I enjoy your bird images.
