I noticed a while ago an aftermarket batteries made for the latest Nikons.
What is noticeable about them is that they are charging with a USB-C cable.
I purchased one to test and... It works just fine.
I shot a couple of thousands of pictures with it in 'burst mode' just to see.
USB-C is ubiquitous and worming its way into everything, and I am not unhappy about this. One charger does it all. I use a 240W charger... I use it with my laptop (XPS 17), GPS device, headphones among other things.
Anyway, as far as the USB-C Nikon batteries, it is a weight saver when traveling as only one 'regular' USB-C charger is needed.
They are made by SmallRig ID 4332 and can be found on Amazon Use with Z8 / Z7 / Z6, USB-C Z7 II, Z6 II, Z5, D850, D810, D810A, D780, D750, D610, D500, D7500-4332
Another version exists for other Nikon cameras.

I am in the process of throwing old chargers in the trash - in many cases I have no idea what they were for. It is to end this waste that the USB-C mandate exists.
