Been thinking about it. Would probably need some help with the role the Digest plays in this.
The reason I "criticized" your statement is because I believe there are too many supposedly "helpful", but too short, sometimes cryptic comments on UHH that just add to the confusion. Sorry, I just saw yours as one of them.

Maybe there needs to be an article on How to Navigate UHH?
People never say where they are in UHH or what they are attempting to do, too many just say "Doesn't work".........
So everyone just pulls suggestions out of their pockets because they don't fully grasp the conditions to which the OP is referring.

T do the same as Therwol, except when I first started on UHH, I used the digest, which I found out that all they put into it was a day old, so I looked into the newest topics icon and the clicked on the unread topics only, Which were all the sections I was sbscribed to... When they loaded I went down to the last one listed as it was the oldest of the lot, then read them all in order of arrival!!!

Thanks to all for your replies. I guess I was using the digest, since I get one email per day, unless there is a response to something I posted. I guess I’ll just have to live with the way it is now… and that’s OK.

Why not simply go to the main page and view Newest Topics?
That way you won't miss anything in your subscribed categories that happened not to make it to The Digest.

Bebu, I don’t remember exactly what happened when I joined UHH, but I’m pretty sure I only saw the Digest at first. I think I used to get a daily email with a link to the Digest. I then learned about Newest Topics and Watched Topics. At that point I dropped the Digest.

When I joined the UHH, everytime I go to the UHH it's the home page. Then I usually clicked on the Main forum. After do that for a while every time I type U on the search line it took me to the Main Photograph Forum page. I basically only there. Only later on I checked on this chit chat forum. Once in a while the for sale forrum. I rarely go to other forum. I never go to the gallery or analysis.

I think the proliferation of sections in the UHH forum is unfortunate. New sections start with festive hoopla and then wither on the vine of neglect. For an example, look at the Travel section. And now someone raised the question of a section for eclipse photography!
I think one of the problems is that newcomers to UHH are not given a clear, easy to understand primer on how UHH is structured and the options members have for accessing the various topics. But UHH is a business venture and I'm sure Admin bases his/her UHH structural decisions on what gets the most advertiser support. I certainly don't claim to understand the inner workings of running the business side of UHH!

As Longshadow and I have pointed out, all of this nonsense and confusion can be avoided by subscribing to the sections you're interested in and clicking on "Newest Topics" when you go to UHH. Every new topic in those sections will be listed, and you can read all of the postings to your heart's content.
