I noticed a while ago an aftermarket batteries made for the latest Nikons.
What is noticeable about them is that they are charging with a USB-C cable.
I purchased one to test and... It works just fine.
I shot a couple of thousands of pictures with it in 'burst mode' just to see.
USB-C is ubiquitous and worming its way into everything, and I am not unhappy about this. One charger does it all. I use a 240W charger... I use it with my laptop (XPS 17), GPS device, headphones among other things.
Anyway, as far as the USB-C Nikon batteries, it is a weight saver when traveling as only one 'regular' USB-C charger is needed.
They are made by SmallRig ID 4332 and can be found on Amazon Use with Z8 / Z7 / Z6, USB-C Z7 II, Z6 II, Z5, D850, D810, D810A, D780, D750, D610, D500, D7500-4332
Another version exists for other Nikon cameras.

I noticed a while ago an aftermarket batteries mad... (

I believe the EU forced Apple to USB-C too.
You may wish to edit your title and opening. It is not aftermarket batteries but rather chargers that are your concern. Correct?

I’m confused about the same thing.

Yeah, well, Apple had this silly 30 pin connector terminating in a 4 pin USB connector for years. Never found a reason for that. At least Lightning and USB-C let you connect easily.

B&H is a SmallRig vendor. Rather deal with BH than Amazon any day. I know they have the cages etc, havent inquired about batteries yet.

Actually, the battery OP was referring to can be charged directly w/only a USB-C cable, no separate charger required

No. Nikon does not offer this option, so
mentioning it as an aftermarket is important to make sure one understands this is not a genuine Nikon product. My spill on USB-C (PD) -as one mentions correctly- is because the use of a single standard is what makes it different. You can use almost anything to charge these batteries. No bulky Nikon charger.
I mention a 240W adapter because it is the only thing I take when traveling - along with a USB-C (PD) car adapter -. Specifically revealing what I use is relatively important as this adapter is versatile and powerful enough to use it instead of the Dell power adapter (XPS-17).
Everything I purchase today must have a USB-C (PD) plug to avoid the past myriad of adapters and cables needed. When I spotted this battery, I had to try it before putting it out here as a valid alternative.
Note to the blowback folks using: 'little company I will never trust' as an argument should remember that many little start-ups have been swallowed by large corporations for various reasons.

It is sold through amazon. What is the problem?

Thank you for the Clarification!
I have seen this concept in AA batteries but not YET in the Camera Specific.
It WILL save Space in my kit.

Welllllll...When I saw the response to a "no charger" I had to research it.
https://nikonrumors.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/SmallRig-USB-C-fast-charging-batteries-for-Nikon-cameras-2.jpg. It looks impressive or at least, I like the idea. Will I buy one? No.
Solving then your interface issue - you can get multi-plug heads that support USB-C - 3 for $14 at Amazon.
