Seems to me that the camera is a tool, nothing more, nothing less; and in the hands of a skilled (or lucky) photographer it is capable of producing a fine image. As has been frequently said: "The best camera is the one you have with you!" In my mind, it is the photographer behind the lens, not the camera in front of the photographer. Poor Ansel Adams had to hand-carry his huge 8 x 10 camera up mountains, and he did a pretty good job of producing world-class images. This argument to me makes as much sense are arguing about hammers sold by Lowe's or Home Depot!

Yes, no use arguing about hammers, but a carpenter isn’t just gonna grab the first hammer he sees. He’s gonna find the one that fits his grip and feels best in his hand. The camera is a tool and most modern cameras offer similar features. It’s up to the photographer to determine which camera feels best. Which implementation of those features best work with his shooting style. You’ll never get that from a forum like this.

Sheeeesh! I just spent the better part of a week researching hammers, making A-B comparisons, learning the composition of the metals used in each and now I learn it doesn't matter?
Most likely not.....
Good grip, good weight, buy it.
I do check the feel in the store though.
Don't need to get what my favorite carpenter uses.....
Every successful photographer is driven by an inner voice telling them Canon is the better camera.

Maybe that's why I've had four in the last 50 years.

Funny, my shrink has been telling me that the voices I hear in my head are not real. Now I know why I own a Canon.
Except those who shoot Nikon, Sony, or whatever! So, let's expand this to a higher level of foolishness and discuss whether Ford is better than Chevrolet, or whatever. Or who makes the best underwear! We all have our proclivities as to who makes the best tool for photographers, sometimes forgetting it is the loose nut behind the camera who is responsible for what comes out of the camera.
What camera and lenses do you have now? mirrorless cameras are all excellent regardless of brand canon adapter ring accepted all my lenses I guess other brands do same. Just pick brand you like or have. Takes practice to learn controls once learned you can quickly change any settings you won’t go back to SRL

Maybe you guys should have listened to the voices around you, instead of limiting yourself!

Problem is, I trust myself....
Not so much other's
opinions.
Especially if those opinions my be based on their perception.
About half of what separates a successful photographer from their peers is who has a Canon.

It is sad, given the market has spoken loudly and clearly for more than 20 years. Why are we even discussing the global #3 trailer, relative to the #1 leader, larger than the next two combined?
It's amazing that any other brand of camera is still being made...and sold. :-) Thanks, I'll hold onto my Nikons, as inferior as they are...

talking to yourself is an indication that deciding between camera brands may not be the greatest need on your plate...
